Contract catering chef wins praise

Chef Kieran Robinson and contract catering firm Zak Hospitality have been praised for the high-quality meals they serve to construction workers on a London building site.

Nicknamed the St Giles Grill by Mr Robinson, the staff eatery at the Central St Giles development in central London has been named best canteen by construction trade publication Building.

Nutrition scientist Anne Sidell said: "Kieran seems like an enlightened chef. Overall the menu had lots of variety."

The canteen also won acclaim for the range of healthy options offered and its fair pricing structure.

Guy Dimond, a restaurant reviewer, praised the chef for his dedication to quality, pointing out: "Kieran makes a lot of effort with the sourcing of ingredients, like the free-range eggs and the sausages."

Mr Robinson has headed up previous contract catering projects for Zak Hospitality, having designed a special healthy menu for builders working on Unilever House in London.

Zak also has experience in the healthy eating arena, making fruit and nut bars for workers and visitors to building sites.
