Caterer.com - The place for jobs in hospitality
A recruitment event run by Aberdeenshire council will give insight into a range of careers, including in the catering industry, it has been reported.
The Press and Journal has said the open day at Inverurie Town Hall may give certain individuals the key to promising employment with the local authority, as council officials are looking to recruit individuals who demonstrate good references.
Catering assistants are among the positions potentially on offer.
Described as a 'one-stop-shop' for job-seekers, the event will also give informal advice on the roles so people know if they are right for them.
The jobs also include community learning workers, waste operatives, joiners and masons, giving an idea of the breadth of opportunities available.
Findings in the UK Tourism Survey 2007 showed visitors to Scotland increased the country's revenue by four per cent to £2.8 billion in 2006, reflecting how catering and hospitality jobs benefit the economy.
