A range of local jobs are on the cards when a new retirement village in Sandford opens next year, it has been reported.
These include positions in catering and hospitality jobs, such as porters and housekeepers, according to the Western & Somerset Mercury.
Situated in Sandford Road, the facility will accommodate a care home and sheltered housing, in addition to a restaurant, health spa and activity centre, to name just a few features.
More than 100 vacancies are expected to be available, with others ranging from nurses to gardening staff.
The estimated launch of the first phase is due in March 2009, the publication claims.
In other news, Teaching Expertise recently reported organising in-house catering in schools could be cost-effective.
The publication pointed out, however, managing it can be "hard work", with time, effort and dedication needed to make it work properly, as well as enlisting the help of "highly motivated staff".
