Public services provider Amey could create contract catering jobs in London after signing a deal to manage facilities at the Department for Transport in the capital.
The £25 million, five-and-a-half year deal will see the firm provide a full range of services to the ministerial headquarters at Great Minster House and two other buildings nearby.
In addition to providing catering services in the staff restaurant and for hospitality events, Amey will also take responsibility for building engineering services, cleaning, waste disposal and pest control, reception and conferencing requirements, security and mail.
Mel Ewell, chief executive of the firm, said: "This prestigious contract win is a further validation of the appeal of Ameys fully integrated end-to-end service, which builds in efficiencies through both scale and strategy.
"We won the contract because of the high quality of our response and look forward to delivering a full facilities management service for this important client."
Last week, it was announced that the Department for Children, Schools and Families had hired Autograph to provide contract catering services at sites in London, Sheffield, Darlington and Runcorn.
