Contract catering jobs possible at defence sites

ESS Support Services Worldwide (ESS) has signed several defence contracts to provide catering services, it has announced.

Part of the Compass Group UK and Ireland – a major national contract catering jobs provider - ESS has secured deals worth £3.7 million a year in total.

RAF Spadeadam and the Army's School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering are among the institutions to have secured ESS services.

Ian Sarson, managing director for specialist markets at Compass Group, said ESS' recent success with retaining and winning contracts demonstrates its dedication to the defence sector and our ability to understand its needs.

He added: "We are delighted to extend our contracts and will continue to strive for excellence in all areas."

Last week, it was announced that contract catering jobs may become available at three sanofi-aventis sites across the UK after the pharmaceutical firm awarded a deal to Wilson Vale Catering Management.
