East Anglia-based caterer Edwards & Blake is hoping 2009 will be its best year yet, having won £2 million worth of contracts in the past 12 months.

According to the Eastern Daily Press, the firm is expecting turnover for the year to stand at around £8 million, with business having been boosted considerably by deals with Greene King, Bayer CropScience and the Premier Food factory among others.

"We're absolutely delighted that Edwards & Blake is enjoying its best year ever and winning major new contracts as the company's reputation for fresh, restaurant-quality food and really good value spreads across East Anglia," the firm's joint managing director Shirley Edwards told the news provider.

The company currently provides 400 contract catering jobs in the Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Essex and Bedfordshire areas, serving 8,500 meals a day.

Earlier this month, catering firm Compass signed two deals with Twickenham Rugby Stadium, which could create hospitality jobs in the area.
