A £2.5 million-contract to supply catering to Preston North End's new stand could increase the number of hospitality jobs in Lancashire, reports the Lancashire Evening Post.

The Invincibles Pavilion at Deepdale will be catered for by Merseyside firm Franklins Hospitality.

Adam Franklin, managing director at Franklins Hospitality, told the news provider: "We have invested heavily in staff training and equipment, meaning that we are capable of servicing more high-profile events."

Franklins provided hospitality for the Preston North End Former Player's Dinner and has a number of large deals such as catering at conferences for Enterprise PLC, Thomas Cook and the Carphone Warehouse.

The stadium's other three stands are catered for by Heathcotes and a spokesperson for the club said that the new contract would not affect this ongoing partnership.

Hospitality jobs could also be created in Manchester if plans to redevelop Lancashire Cricket Club's Old Trafford ground are approved next month.
