Sodexo Prestige lands Headingley Experience contract catering job

Contract catering jobs in Yorkshire are set to be created by Sodexo Prestige, which has been named the exclusive hospitality partner for Headingley Experience.

Under the multimillion-pound agreement, Sodexo Prestige will provide Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie with retail, catering and hospitality services.

Some 14 full-time staff will manage the operation, while around 650 temporary contract catering jobs will be created to support them. Numbers will depend on the levels of demand for each event.

David Johnson, managing director of Sodexo Prestige England and Wales, described the chance to work with Headingley Experience as an "incredible opportunity".

Commercial director of Leeds Rugby Rob Oates added: "You only need to look at the other events and sporting organisations that they currently work with to realise that they will help us build our business in the future."

The news comes shortly after Sodexo Prestige announced it will develop a new quayside pavilion alongside the HMS Belfast in London.
