Plans to develop a marina in Cherry Willingham could give hospitality recruitment in Lincolnshire a boost, with a hotel, restaurant and bar expected to come as part of the project.
An investment of roughly £3.7 million is being planned for Eastfield Rise Farm by Globe Consultants, which is handling the project on behalf of a private investor, reports the Lincolnshire Echo.
Initial concerns about the environmental impact of the plan have been dismissed as a council survey showed a majority of people are in favour of the development, which could create 70 jobs for the area.
Globe Consultants director Phil Scrafton said: "It's an exciting project and I think that is why it has been very well received by most of the local community."
He added the scheme could make the area a better place to live and offer new amenities to local people and potential visitors.
The Parish Council cited potential benefits as improved access to the Viking Way and the creation of a new green space for the village, but did note it could potentially increase traffic on the Fiskerton Road.
