A Nottingham brewery hopes to create new pub jobs by transforming a run-down working men's club into a high-spec bar.
The Castle Rock Brewery is looking to raise £600,000 via an Enterprise Investment Scheme in order to complete the programme, the Publican reports.
A limited company is to be created, offering 120 shares at £5,000 each to raise the money needed to buy and redevelop the unnamed site.
The brewer's chairman, Chris Holmes, told the newspaper that he hopes to start work on the former British Legion venue over the next six weeks.
He said that the development will be "community friendly, female friendly, foody and a pub as well".
When it opens in May of next year, it will include meeting and function facilities, as well as parking for nearly 70 cars.
Last month, the Nottingham Post suggested that new hotel jobs could be created in Nottingham with the opening of a venue in the Lace Market conservation area of the city.
