A new Holiday Inn Express is set to be built close to the A12 in Essex, it has been announced.
The global hotel chain has already created local jobs by opening outposts in Basildon and Colchester but the East Anglian Daily News reports that it is now planning to launch a new property in a more rural location near Dedham Vale.
The area is famous for its stunning natural beauty and was made famous by painter John Constable, leading it to be nicknamed 'Constable Country'.
Developer Geminox Hotel and Leisure Management has planning permission for a hotel on the site and is awaiting final approval for its plans to construct the 99-room Holiday Inn Express property.
Jas Dhooper, managing director of the firm, said: "We had feasibility reports and have done our own internal research and there is a big demand there."
Holiday Inn Express is a value-chain and is rapidly expanding, with the firm claiming that it is opening two hotels every week somewhere in the world.
