A well-known spa and leisure centre in south Dorset has told a source it expects to open its four-star hotel by the end of the year, creating hospitality jobs in the process.

The Portland Spa, whose "world-class" features currently include a therapy suite, conference and banqueting centre and restaurant, expects to generate a team of around 100 staff by the launch in November, according to the Daily Echo.

Comprising of 80 double or twin bedrooms including four luxury suites, the hotel is part of the company's £10 million investment project to boost visitors to Dorset's World Heritage Coast.

Andrew Coupe, managing director of the venue, told the publication: "Our focus is on developing market opportunities for the hospitality industry in South Dorset."

Construction work is set to be completed by the end of October, the report says.

The company seeks workers who are team players as well as being self-motivated and passionate and claims to offer opportunities to develop the skills of its employees.
