A host of employment opportunities are said to be on the cards with a newly approved and exciting retail park for Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, it has been reported.

Developer Hermiston Securities wants to build a 50,000 sq ft centre for furniture and electrical goods stores on the same site it hopes to create a pub, restaurant and 45-bedroom hotel, according to the Press and Journal.

The plans have been approved by Aberdeenshire council and the range and number of jobs is yet to be decided, depending on which retailers and businesses the firm brings on board.

Around 50 local jobs are said to be in the pipeline for the adjoining hospitality facilities and opportunities for the rest of the retail attraction are tipped to run perhaps into the hundreds.

In related news, Aberdeenshire council are set to run a recruitment day which may give useful information and even career prospects to many, including for catering assistant roles.
