A review on innovation in the UK services industry could signify interesting news for those in or seeking hospitality jobs, according to a source.
The Innovation in Services report outlines how the UK's economy from services is currently worth £1 trillion and how the government can help boost the implementation of new and modern ideas to take it even further.
Other industries hoping to benefit from the reform are construction, logistics, internet services and environmental services.
Innovation minister Ian Pearson said: "We are helping to create the conditions for innovation to flourish throughout the economy, including the services sector. [It] is critical to the UK's future prosperity, our quality of life and future job prospects."
Principal findings from the report include the use of online resources in taking companies forward and necessary collaboration between the government and relevant trade organisations.
Big Hospitality was recently told by the chief executive of the London-based Academy of Food and Wine that boosting recruitment in the catering and hospitality industry is "vital" in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic Games.
