A prominent hotel in Chester is set to undergo a major transformation early next year, it has been reported.

The city's Hoole Hall Hotel is to be renamed Doubletree, by Hilton, as part of an extensive £21 million redevelopment programme, reports LDP Business.

It becomes the fifth establishment to open under the Doubletree brand in the UK, which may be of note to those seeking hospitality jobs.

The refurbishment has seen significant changes to the interior, including the creation of luxury rooms, a spa, pool, gym and walled garden.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice- president of development for Hilton Hotels for UK, Europe and Africa, said: "Our latest development deal in Chester truly demonstrates the momentum behind the Doubletree by Hilton brand. It further underscores our strategy to take Doubletree by Hilton to more than 20 hotels in the UK alone during the next five years."

Elsewhere, Sanguine has been given the go-ahead for its £7 million scheme to upgrade the region's Hoylake's King's Gap hotel.
