A leading pub chain has announced plans to open a brand new hotel in Devon.
Whitbread which incorporates Premier Inns hotel chain has its sights set on the town of Ilfracombe as the location for its next venture, reports thisisnorthdevon.co.uk.
John Kinsey, partner at King Sturge in Exeter, confirmed the company is looking to secure a development site of between 1.5 to two acres for the new project, which may be of interest to those considering hospitality jobs in the region.
The town has been attracting some high-profile names recently, with the Wetherspoons chain announcing it is to open a pub and hotel at the old Collingwood Hotel on the seafront.
Neighbours of the 300-year-old Royal Britannia Hotel which is currently boarded up have pointed out that the building is in need of attention, as well as a new licensee.
In related news, it was recently reported that the New Dolphin Hotel in Honiton, Devon is due to reopen under the name of Montgomery Hotel.
