A 125-year old London hotel, which was formerly a base for the British secret service, has reopened, creating hospitality jobs in the capital.
The Royal Horseguards Hotel has undergone a £16 million makeover and opened its doors for a charity fundraiser on Thursday February 26th.
It features 280 bedrooms and guests have the opportunity to learn about its history with guided tours of the Grade I listed building.
The hotel may be recognised by some, as in addition to serving as a secret service base it featured in the 1983 James Bond movie Octopussy.
It was recently reported that more hotel jobs will be created in London with the opening of the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, which will be taking bookings from 2010.
The development boasts 1,021 rooms, 35 meeting spaces and a ballroom with capacity for 1,400 people.
It will be located directly opposite the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, making it ideal for weekends away as well as business events.
