Premier Inn creates Chester hotel jobs

The opening of the new Chester Premier Inn earlier this year took the budget accommodation provider beyond the 40,000-room threshold in the UK, it has been revealed.

Premier Inn - which created new hotel jobs in the historic Roman city - became the first to reach this milestone when it threw open the doors to the 120-room facility.

Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants managing director Patrick Dempsey said the firm was "delighted" to reach the landmark.

"It further demonstrates our industry leading position, and means we are on track to achieve our target of offering 55,000 rooms in the next five years," he added.

A Chester restaurant was recently awarded the prestigious AA Rosette for high quality food and service, according to the Chester Chronicle.

The Orchid Room restaurant at Hoole's Doubletree by Hilton took its place in the top two per cent in the UK as a result of this recognition.
