An award-winning Somerset hotel has earned the right to join the prestigious Hilton chain, in a move it hopes will encourage more tourists to the south-west region.
The four-star Cadbury House Hotel in Congresbury is to be renamed Doubletree by Hilton Cadbury House Hotel, Health Club and Spa following an internal revamp, reports thisissomerset.co.uk.
Local hospitality professionals may hope the new branding will lead to the creation of hotel jobs - entirely possible given the predicted rise in occupancy rates.
Hotel managing director and co-owner Nick Taplin said the new deal would help raise the level of service its guests can expect.
"In tough economic times this will strengthen our market position and encourage a lot more tourists, including American travellers from Bristol International Airport, through to North Somerset," he added.
"This is a real coup for Cadbury House and raises the standard for hoteliers across the region."
Hotel jobs were recently created in Gloucester by the opening of a new Travelodge at the city's Quays development, reports the Gloucestershire Echo.
