A total of 150 hotel jobs could be created as part of a project set for East Midlands Airport.
Manchester Airport Group has submitted plans for a new multi-million-pound hotel which will have more than 200 rooms, the Leicester Mercury reported.
The proposed scheme also features a gym, bar and restaurant, highlighting the possibility that other hospitality jobs could be created.
In the planning statement submitted to Leicestershire District Council, the firm said: "The proposed hotel will add to the facilities at the airport for passengers - both leisure and business travellers.
"It is felt that there is a real opportunity for the site to provide a high-quality hotel and conference facilities for the whole district."
The hotel would be built at Pegasus Business Park in Castle Donnington.
Recently, it was revealed that Premier Inn is to open four new hotels at airports in London.
The move will see two new hotels constructed at Heathrow and one each at Gatwick and Stansted.
