A hotel in Worcestershire has become the only place in the country to be awarded two honours in the 2010 Johansens Awards for Excellence, it has been reported.
The Cottage in the Wood country house hotel in Malvern was commended in two out of ten categories in the awards, which were held at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, according to the Malvern Gazette.
Hailing the hotel, the expert panel of judges said the Cottage in the Wood had the most informative wine list and the best half-bottle range, and was commended for both.
Mar Pattin, who has been running the hotel for more than 20 years and picks the wines himself, told the news provider: "This years awards are the icing on the cake since we have also made the finals of the AA best wine list awards, something we have managed to achieve every year since 1998."
The Johansens Awards for Excellence are run by publisher Condé Nast and 2010 marked the 28th annual ceremony.
