The historic Golden Lion Hotel in Maryport is to reopen on Monday (March 1st) following a lavish makeover.
Some £1.25 million was spent revamping the hotel, which now boasts 16 ensuite bedrooms, a restaurant, a conference room and a pub which can be used by locals, reports the Times and Star.
The hotel's reopening has created 12 full-time hospitality jobs and a number of part-time positions.
Adrian Romea, of Maryport, will be bar manager and Simon Haslam, of Dearham, has been appointed head chef.
"We will serve morning and afternoons teas, lunches, pub food and restaurant fare. We want to cater for everyone and we will aim to please everyone," new owner Phillip Cueto told the news provider.
The BBC recently reported that hundreds of people attended an event aimed at recruiting hospitality workers for the Norton Grange Coastal Village in Yarmouth, which is set to reopen next month.
