Hotel jobs will be created as part of plans designed to regenerate part of Towcester, it has been revealed.
A planning application has been submitted for a new development in the town that will include a new hotel, restaurant and cafe, the Northampton Chronicle and Echo has reported.
The new sites are set around the Bury Mount monument and will be close to the Watermeadows town park.
John Townsend, cabinet member for environmental policy at South Northamptonshire Council, said that he hopes residents will be happy with the "vision for the future of Towcester".
He said: "This is a real milestone for the project and we are confident that the outline planning application reflects feedback we've received from the community and key stakeholders since 2007."
In other news, a new development planned for Glasgow could create 3,000 new employment opportunities in the city, including hotel jobs, the Evening Times has reported.
The £200 million Collegelands development is expected to bring an additional £110 million a year into the local economy.
