Ramada Warwick Hotel purchase saves 30 jobs

Hotel jobs in the West Midlands have been saved after a buyer was found for the Ramada Warwick Hotel and Conference Centre at Kenilworth.

The property is one of three hotels in the region that was part of the Fortmere Group, which went into administration in May. Wise Hotel has now stepped in to purchase the establishment, meaning 30 hotel jobs have been protected.

Earlier this month, more than 100 positions were safeguarded at the Ramada Park Hall in Wolverhampton, meaning the Ramada Birmingham Oldbury Hotel is the only one of the three that is yet to find a buyer.

Ravi Johal, director at Wise Hotel, told the Birmingham Post: "We are very pleased to be expanding our hotel footprint in the Midlands and look to make improvements to the Ramada Warwick Hotel immediately."

A total of 145 staff were employed by the Fortmere Group, which ran the three hotels under a franchise agreement with Ramada.

Administrator Grant Thornton has been looking to sell the properties as going concerns.
