Hospitality professionals in hotel manager jobs in Edinburgh are being kept busy by the arrival of giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang at the city's zoo.
According to the Scotsman, searches on Hotels.com made this week for accommodation in the capital have risen by 78 per cent compared to the previous seven days, with the majority of enquiries coming from within the UK.
This surge in popularity is significantly higher than the website would typically see at this time of year and comes ahead of the pandas' official public debut on December 16th.
Kate Hopcraft from Hotels.com said: "Tian Tian and Yang Guang have made headline news this weekend and it's great for Edinburgh to see that their arrival is already impacting on hotel searches in the local area."
Having arrived in Edinburgh, the giant pandas will live in £250,000 semi-detached enclosures featuring their own caves, climbing features and pools, and protected with bullet-proof glass.
