Hospitality professionals looking for hotel jobs in the West Midlands could be eager to apply for positions at the Longmynd Hotel in Church Stretton, which has been handed a prestigious industry accolade.
The establishment was given a gold rating by the UK-wide Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) thanks to its commitment to supporting and promoting local produce, reports the Ludlow Advertiser.
Praise was also reserved for its sustainable approach to business, including the use of a biomass boiler to provide heating and hot water throughout the building.
Guests at the hotel are encouraged to support its efforts by following its responsible visitor charter.
Lee Chapman, proprietor of the Longmynd Hotel, praised the hard work of his team and insisted the company will continue to collaborate with local businesses.
The independent hotel picked up a silver award in the 2010 GTBS initiative and had previously expressed its desire to improve that result in 2011.
