Hotel recruitment in Wales is set to be boosted by plans to transform a Victorian mansion at St George in Conwy into luxury accommodation.
Kinmel Hall was bought for almost £1.5 million by an investor who already has several business interests in Wales just minutes before it had been due to go to auction, reports BBC News.
Simon Rigsall, a spokesman for the buyer, said the proposals to turn the building into a hotel will create more jobs if a planning application receives the green light.
"I can't say much about the buyer at this stage, but he is already a substantial investor in Wales," he added.
It is believed two international hotel groups had been interested in submitting bids for Kinmel Hall before the purchase was made.
Construction of the mansion, which is set in around 18 acres of walled gardens, was completed in the 1870s, while the adjoining stable block was built in the 1850s.
