Staff in hotel jobs at Burnley's Holiday Inn Express have been recognised for their impressive service with an award from the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG).
The Torchbearer award is given to hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa that consistently receive good reports for customer satisfaction. Only five hotels are recognised annually.
Strict audit regimes carried out by IHG, the company behind the Holiday Inn and Hotel Indigo brands, were necessary to qualify for the award, reports the Burnley Express.
This is the second consecutive year in which the Burnley establishment, operated by Starboard Hotels, has won the accolade.
General manager Kim Eivind Krohn said the local area had a great deal to offer visitors and expressed his pleasure at retaining Torchbearer status.
"This is a fantastic achievement for us because it is about our hotel and our team being given recognition by our guests," he added.
IHG incorporates more than 666,000 rooms across 100 countries, making it one of the world's biggest hotel groups.
