A multimillion-pound expansion of Lancashire's Stanley House hotel, adding a luxury spa and 18 new bedrooms to the establishment, is set to create 20 hotel jobs for the region.
The owners expect work to be completed by the summer of 2012 and hope this will establish the accommodation as some of the best in the north of England.
Philip Wharton, Stanley House general manager, said the company was working with the best available contractors and advisers to ensure it creates an impressive and enjoyable experience for potential visitors.
"Our advisers have worked with the finest hotels and spas in the world, so there is no doubt that Stanley House's offering will be unrivalled in the region," he added.
Neil Howard from Howard Spa Consulting added that the beautiful scenery surrounding the establishment gave it an edge over many of its rivals.
The hotel's 54-acre grounds are set in the Ribble Valley and it was opened in 2004 after the conversion of a 17th century manor house.
