Chef jobs could become available in the north-west through Indian restaurant chain ChennaiDosa's plans to open its first eatery in the region.
The chain has ten restaurants across the UK and is set to create 25 catering jobs by opening a new two-storey, 125-cover establishment in the Stretford Mall, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Specialising in south Indian cuisine, ChennaiDosa has seven restaurants in the London area and three others in Reading, Birmingham and Leicester.
General manager Suresh Baskar said: "I have had customers contacting me from the north of England who have visited our restaurants in London asking me when we are going to open closer to them."
He added that the company had looked at sites in Manchester city centre but wanted to be close to a community, hence its choice of the Stretford Mall site.
ChennaiDosa will be one of the first sit-down eateries in the Stretford Mall, although it already has a number of coffee shops and bakeries.
