A new hotel and pub/restaurant project in Ely, Cambridgeshire, is likely to be given the green light and could create several local jobs.
East Cambridgeshire District Council officers have recommended the project be given approval if a new layout is agreed, meaning the site at Angel Drove will be developed over the coming months.
According to the Ely Standard, the hotel will be a much needed addition to the area, with local employers already expressing the need for a better quality hotel to serve the community.
"The hotel and pub/restaurant would meet a recognised need for accommodation with restaurant facilities, which the tourist assessment recognises is lacking in Ely," said a report from the members of the council's planning committee.
"The existing businesses at Cambridgeshire Business Park combined with the additional users of the proposed development, would provide a significant demand for a hotel and its associated facilities."
The project would also provide offices and warehousing on the 40-acre site.
