Hartlepool-based Camerons Brewery has acquired the operation of a town-centre licensed establishment and will input £50,000 into boosting its standing, it has been reported.

This will include the refurbishment of its interiors and the creation of local jobs, including the recruitment of a tenant to run the pub, according to the Hartlepool Mail.

Called the Mill House, the pub's new look will attract sports fans and music lovers alike, brewery managers told the newspaper.

Yousef Doubooni, marketing manager for the firm, said: "We are extremely happy with the acquisition of this site."

Renovations will be completed by August 21st this year, it is claimed.

The brewing company itself has just announced plans for a £4 million expansion, which will entail the opening of more pubs under its banner and an increase in new employment opportunities as a result.

Camerons was formed when the Lion Brewery in Hartlepool, which has been in existence for more than 150 years, was purchased by Castle Eden Brewery, according to the firm's official website.
