A soon-to-be-married couple, who are both pub managers, have teamed up for the opening of a new venue for the town centre, it has been reported.

The new JD Wetherspoon-owned establishment, which is called the William Henry, will see Steve Newstead take on the running of it when it launches in August, according to the Dorset Echo.

His partner Kim, who runs Weymouth's other pub operated by the national pub chain, The Swan, is assisting him in training staff who will be employed by the new venue, which number 60 full and part-time members created by the £450,000 refurbishment of the site.

Steve has previously been working at the Royal Oak in Dorcester but wants to move closer to his home town, with "no rivalry" about the situation from his future wife.

JD Wetherspoon currently owns 679 pubs across the UK and has been in operation since 1979, claiming to be one of the UK's most popular and successful high-street licensed establishments.
