Hospitality jobs are set to become available following a deal between budget hotel chain Travelodge and pub group Marston's, which is expected to be announced today.

The partnership will see the two companies build a series of hotels and pubs alongside the country's busy A-roads, starting with a new property in Wincanton, Somerset.

This first site will house a 57-room hotel next door to a 6,500 sq foot pub, which will lead to the creation of numerous local jobs.

Derek Andrew, managing director of Marston's, said: "By co-locating with Travelodge we will be able to develop sites which would not be viable for ourselves alone."

The firms have also identified two further sites they hope to purchase by the end of this year and are looking for another ten for next year.

Travelodge recently became the first budget hotel in the UK to start communicating with customers via Twitter to inform them of new offers, hotel openings and job opportunities.
