An Ulverston pub has undergone a spectacular transformation into a two-floor bar restaurant, which has seen the creation of up to 20 hospitality jobs.

Leisure firm C2 invested thousands in refurbishing The Mill on Mill Street in the north-west town since it took the building over from Punch Taverns two months ago, reports the North West Evening Mail.

The Mill has already taken on ten new members of staff for restaurant work and pub manager Phil Simpson expects to recruit another five to ten employees.

He told the newspaper: "We've recognised Ulverston for quite some time as a really lovely market town and we just feel our brand of modern cask ale bars will work here."

The bar has retained the historic watermill that is located inside the pub which is powered by the stream that runs alongside the outdoor terrace.

Pub group Marston's recently announced a partnership with Travelodge that will see the firms open a string of new bars and hotels at busy roadsides around the UK.
