An influx of pub jobs is set to hit Sheffield in the new year, with the opening of two new JD Wetherspoon pubs, reports the Sheffield Telegraph.
The Aunt Sally and The Sheaf Island are both set to open in February.
Clarkehouse Road's The Aunt Sally, near the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, is undergoing an £800,000 refurbishment after it was bought by JD Wetherspoon.
Although no firm opening date has been set, it is predicted that the revamped pub will open in February.
The Sheaf Island, however, is scheduled to open on February 12th and work has already started on the Ecclesall Road pub, which is part of the redevelopment of the Old Ward's Brewery in the city.
At a cost of about £1 million, it is expected that the new pub's opening will create around 50 pub jobs.
The company has a policy of placing pubs which can be bought and redeveloped quickly as priority, meaning there may be delays to bigger projects such as that of The Sheaf Island.
JD Wetherspoon recently opened a new pub in Torquay, which could create around 100 pub jobs.
