Seekers of catering and hospitality jobs may find one with a difference when the proposed Turner Contemporary gallery opens on Margate's waterfront, it has been reported.
Described as a "visionary" new facility by artdaily.org, the attraction's appeal is in its ability to put the town "on the arts map" and provide a boost for the local economy, creating local jobs and new business for the area.
The vacancies may be created across the venue's galleries, cafe, conference and studio space, the report suggests.
Arts Council England and the South East England Development Agency (Seeda) will be providing a joint cash injection of £8.1 million for the new centre.
In addition, "the council are working hard to regenerate Margate's old town and it is being transformed into a vibrant new cultural quarter", chief executive of Seeda Pam Alexander told the news provider, on the back of the hope that Turner Contemporary would some day become a reality.
Traveluk.co.uk says Margate has drawn interest since the 1730s and the visitor's centre set up for the Turner Contemporary has already welcomed 38,000 people through its doors in three years.
