Using quality produce and honing techniques is very important to be a successful chef, according to one expert.
Celebrity food critic and farm owner Simon Wright has pointed out it takes "taste, understanding and skill" to unleash the authentic flavours and textures of seasonal and local ingredients, the Western Mail reports.
As well as advising on food, Mr Wright is also partner at Y Polyn restaurant in Wales, which uses produce from his own farm and other local suppliers.
He told the publication: "The job of the chef and the restaurant is to do just enough work to bring out the real splendour of those raw materials."
On the subject of quality, the catering expert said he wished more people would recognise the goodness in food as opposed to the cheapness, as it may cause suppliers to improve the standard of their produce, in particular meat and chicken.
In other news, celebrity chef Raymond Blanc is set to receive an honorary OBE recognising him for his contributions to the British food industry, according to Big Hospitality.
