A new development which incorporates over 50 restaurants has been opened in London today.

Westfield has officially opened the doors to its new £1.7 billion shopping mall in Shepherds Bush, reports bighospitality.co.uk.

According to the developer, the Southern Terrace features 17 restaurants and cafes, with or indoor and outdoor dining available from retailers such as Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Wagamama.

In addition, the Balcony offers a further 13 outlets from names such as Yo Sushi!, Nando's and Pizza Express.

Rachel Belam, leasing executive at Westfield, told the site the developer "deliberately targeted the best and freshest names" in the restaurant world.

She added: "Westfield London's unrivalled selection of dining options will offer its vast catchment area the innovation, choice, sophistication, quality and authenticity they crave."

Westminster council recently gave approval to plans by developers Make for a new hotel and five restaurants to be built in the south-west corner of Leicester Square in central London.
