Bath could be set to get a brand new restaurant from celebrity chef Raymond Blanc, it has been reported.

Plans to transform the Quaker-owned Friends Meeting House in York Street into a 140-seat restaurant have been resubmitted by the famous cook's team, reports thisisbath.co.uk.

Initial plans were turned down in July by Bath and North East Somerset Council's development control committee, but the group has redrafted the original proposal.

Caroline Kay, chief executive of the Georgian Group and Bath Preservation Trust, said its opposing stance had been changed by the new plans, which could be welcome news for those looking for catering recruitment.

She said: "We believe that the applicants have listened to our primary concerns and they have made substantial revisions to their approach to the development."

In related news, thisisgloucester.co.uk recently reported that Gloucester has some 4,000 vacancies across the county, with 350 of those jobs being in the hotel and catering industry.
