A new multi-million pound conference centre from restaurant chain Aagrah is set to open in Bradford this spring, bringing new hospitality jobs to the region.

The £4 million development will incorporate the Pudsey branch of the eatery, which is relocating, reports the Bradford Telegraph and Argus.

Fifty positions are expected to be created by the development, boosting catering recruitment in the city.

Aagrah Group, which owns 12 restaurants throughout Yorkshire, is already taking bookings.

"I was attracted to the idea of building a top-class conference and banqueting destination which offered flexible and affordable packages," Mohammed Aslam, managing director of the Aagrah Group, told the newspaper.

He added there was a need for such a banqueting centre on the edge of Leeds and Bradford.

The conference and banqueting facility will be able to cater for up to 700 people theatre-style and 450 for dining.

Aagrah restaurants have won numerous awards including Best Restaurant Group in the UK at the British Curry Awards 2006.
