Individuals searching for employment should consider hospitality jobs as these offer opportunities for rapid progression and life-long employment, according to a leading academic.
Professor David Foskett, of the Institute of Hospitality, told the Mirror recently that while jobs in the hospitality and catering industries are sometimes viewed as poorly paid, the truth is much different.
"There are many entrepreneurs and high earners, which dispels the myth that it's a low-paid industry," he told the newspaper.
"It's an exciting profession which allows you to travel and work anywhere."
Professor Foskett added that catering alone contributes £85 billion to the economy, so those considering restaurant work or chef jobs need never be out of work.
The newspaper also recommended that anyone interested in securing a cruise ship job should visit Caterer.com for advice and access to hundreds of positions.
It was recently announced that City College Norwich will be offering new training courses for people interested in hospitality jobs, according to the Eastern Daily Press.
