A young chef has impressed diners at a Cheshire eatery after taking-over the kitchen and cooking from his own menu.
It was part of a series of events organised by Visit Chester & Cheshire, the local tourism board, to promote young chefs in the area, reports cheshirefirst.co.uk.
Stuart Fenney treated diners at the Ring O'Bells gastro-pub in Christleton, near Cheshire, to a four-course meal including stilton and cranberry tart followed by twice-cooked belly pork with gratin dauphinoise or wild mushroom, chestnut and cream cheese strudel as a vegetarian option.
He was awarded with a commemorative plate by Villeroy & Boch and a chef's jacket by Tibard workwear. Host Sam Mallows was given a Magnum of Prosecco by Gerrard Seel wines.
The 23-year-old told the news provider: "As this evening went so well I'm now more determined than ever before to become a head chef of a successful restaurant."
He added that the occasion was "mind blowing" after having been a professional chef for just nine months.
Rose Greene and Sarah Cooper were recently named as 2009 winners of the Young Chef Young Waiter event after a tough competition in London.
