Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has revealed that he is good friends with Sunderland manager Steve Bruce and cooks for him on occasions when he is in the north of England, according to the Sunday Sun.
The revelation came when the chef spoke at a recent charity dinner at Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham, held to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Pierre White told the news provider: "I've cooked for Steve and his family on many occasions over the years. I know there is a great passion for football in the north and it was such a tragedy when Newcastle and Middlesbrough were relegated from the Premiership last season."
He also gave an insight into how it was in the north of England that he had his initial springboard to success after the St George Hotel in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, took him on as a trainee 30 years ago.
Pierre White was awarded his third Michelin star at the age of 33 he was the first British and youngest chef ever to achieve this.
