Restaurant jobs are set to be created in North Wales after plans for an £8.5 million block of apartments for the elderly were revealed yesterday, reports the Denbighshire Visitor.
The Extra Care Housing development will be built in Prestatyn in Denbighshire after the demolition of the former Llys Nant nursing home.
It will feature 59 purpose-built apartments as well as a restaurant, library and hairdressers, along with a 24-hour team of carers.
The work is being carried out by Linford Group for the Wales & West Housing Association and is due to be completed by November 2010. It will create around 12 jobs.
Anne Hinchey, chief executive of Wales & West, told the news provider: "This development will provide a real alternative to residential care for older people, both in terms of respecting their dignity and desire for independence, and also in terms of affordability."
Hospitality jobs in Wales are also being created at a new development in Carmarthen, with the revamp of the town centre seeing eateries such as Frankie and Benny's and Pizza Express opening units, reports WalesOnline.
