After a 15-year restoration project, a London market has opened its doors to a new establishment, which has bolstered restaurant jobs in London.
The Times reported on the Market Coffee House project which Peter Sinden undertook at Spitalfields Market in east London and used recovered materials to complete.
"I was looking for a project and Kay had always wanted a restaurant. The building was solid enough but was in pretty poor repair. The roof needed redoing, the brickwork on the parapet was rebuilt," he stated.
The restaurateur added that by doing most of the renovation work himself rather than using contractors, he has managed to create a space which is truly interesting and made mostly out of recycled materials.
In other news, the Liverpool Echo recently reported on the Reform Bar & Restaurant, which will open at the end of March, and Nick Redfern, who is behind the project, told the publication that it should bring something new to the city's business district.
