Those with restaurant work will no doubt have an eye on the Academy of Food & Wine's search for the UK Restaurant Manager of the Year 2010.
Managers of any kind of catering establishment are welcome to enter for the award, supported by the National Skills Academy for Hospitality and sponsored by OpenTable as well as The Savoy Educational Trust.
Peter Avis, restaurant manager at London's Babylon restaurant at the Roof Gardens, was the winner of last year's prize.
He commented: "It's a fabulous competition to have won, I've had a great year and have raised my profile in the industry hugely."
As part of his prize, Mr Avis completed a stage at Danny Meyer's restaurant in New York, teaching him a "massive amount".
The Academy of Food and Wine is a not for profit social enterprise as well as a membership organisation.
It is also the official professional body for sommeliers working in the UK.
