A new Scottish restaurant is planned for the Canary Wharf area of London, which could create new hospitality jobs in the capital.
The Boisdale restaurant is to overlook Cabot square and the 12,000 sq ft development will create 125 jobs in the local area.
Costing £2.7 million, it will be based on two floors and sport a cigar club and seat a total of 430 diners.
Ranald Macdonald, proprietor and founder of Boisdale, has revealed that it will boost live jazz, blues and soul.
He stated: "Canary Wharf represents one of the fastest growing and sophisticated markets in the world but we found workers still wanted a restaurant with a little more tradition."
The restaurant is due to open in January of next year and will be the latest site in Mr Macdonald's chain, which includes bases in Bishopsgate and Belgravia.
Last month, the regional vice-president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Four Seasons, Jane Burnell, told TTGlive.com that her establishment will be like a "new" hotel following the completion of its refit scheme.
