Nando's could create head chef jobs and other catering positions in its new Bradford restaurant, which is expected to open in February.

The popular chain, known for its peri-peri chicken, is expected to generate around 25 jobs after agreeing a letting deal with developer Rushbond, reports Insider Media.

Nando's opened its first UK restaurant in 1992 and has enjoyed precipitous growth in the last few years, extending its operation to Scotland and Ireland.

It is currently fitting out the 4,200 sq ft Bradford establishment, which is situated in Centenary Square. The area currently contains a number of hospitality outlets, including a Starbucks cafe and a JD Wetherspoon pub.

"Nando's is an expanding restaurant group with the right family appeal for Bradford and we are pleased that they are coming to the city centre," said Rushbond managing director Jonathan Maud.

Mr Maud expressed hope that securing investment from Nando's would help attract further interest in the Bradford development scheme, adding that external dining areas offered the potential for al fresco eating during the summer months.
