Sous chef jobs could be generated by celebrity chef James Martin's plan to open a new restaurant in north Yorkshire as part of the redevelopment of the Talbot Hotel in Malton.
The hotel, which has been in the hands of the Fitzwilliam Estate for over 200 years, is currently undergoing a £4 million refurbishment.
It is expected to reopen in spring with 26 bedrooms, a 70-seat restaurant, two bars and a private function room.
The restaurant will be under the control of Mr Martin, although it is not yet known how involved he will be in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
"I shall be looking at sourcing local suppliers and guests can look forward to finding all my favourite Yorkshire produce on the menu," he said.
The chef initially appeared on TV in Yorkshire, on shows which emphasised the region's traditional cuisine.
Tom Naylor-Leyland of the Talbot Hotel explained that local sourcing and culinary innovation encapsulated the image of the refurbished establishment.
